Happy Furry Friend Friday!  It’s our favorite day of the week, how many of you can say that you get to chat with cute animals every Friday?  Today our special guest is Rayna, a 2 year-old dachshund and terrier mix up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter.  She’s been at the shelter for over a month now, which is far too long for someone with a face as cute as hers!  Rayna is ready for her forever home, so if you think she could be your new best friend pay her a visit!

So Rayna, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

I’m just your typical pup I’d say, I love going out for walks!  I’d say that’s my favorite thing, the staff here at the shelter are awesome and bring me for about four walks a day!  After that I love playing with some toys to burn off the rest of my energy, and once I’m tuckered out there’s nothing better than a cuddle sesh with my favorite people.  I love to snuggle and jump up on laps, I’m only 20 pounds though so I’m not too heavy, I’d say I’m the perfect size for a lap dog!

Do you have a favorite toy that you like to play with?

I can’t choose one specific toy, but I love all plush squeaky toys!  Those are my favorite, I love getting a hold of them and running around and teasing my people with them, they think they can snatch it away from me, but I’m too quick for them!

Is there anything that scares you?

I wouldn’t use the word scare, I’d say loud commotion makes me nervous, and I tend to be timid around young children.  The way I see it, young children usually cause loud commotion, and sometimes they aren’t always dog-savvy and will pull on my tail and ears, which can be really annoying and even painful!

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well, first off I think I would need to go to a home with kids that are ages 12 and up.  Other than that I would hope that my new family would be active and like to bring me on walks, I’ve always wanted to go to the beach so maybe that’s something we could try.  I don’t have any other requests, I just want to be loved and petted by an awesome family that will love me forever!

So Rayna, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well, pets can get sick just like people can, so doesn’t it make sense to get them insurance too?  I know the vet can get pretty expensive, I think sometimes it’s just as hard for people to go as it is for pets, pet insurance seems like a smart way to make sure you can get your furry friend the care they need without emptying your savings.

Rayna is as smart as she is cute!  When it comes to pet insurance, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves, so call one of our agents today for a free pet insurance quote and get your furry friend the protection they deserve!
