It’s that time of the week again, Furry Friend Friday!  Today’s interview was especially fun, that’s because we got to spend time with Recess!  No, we’re not talking about running around outside on the playground (although that would be fun), we’re talking about our furry friend!  Recess is his name, and cuteness is his game.  This handsome guy is a 1 year-old greyhound up for adoption at Greyhound Friends, Inc in Hopkinton.

So Recess, how did you find yourself in the good old Bay State?

Well I made my way all the way up from West Virginia if you can believe it.  During my time down there I was a racing dog!  It’s nice to be retired though, now I’m just ready and waiting to find my perfect forever family.

What’s your favorite way to spend the day?

I love being around people!  If I’m being totally honest, I can be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you I’m very friendly.  I like to think of myself as a bit of a social butterfly and love to be petted.  I’m also pretty active since I’m still a pup, I love going for long walks and running around in the grass!

Do you have a favorite toy?

I love chasing tennis balls!  I have a lot of energy and I still like to show off my speed skills.  I could chase a tennis ball around all day if I had someone to throw it to me!

Is there anything that scares you?

Hmm,  the only thing that comes to mind is change.  I don’t really like change and get a bit anxious when I’m in a new situation.  I don’t like the uncertainty it brings, but once I get used to it I turn right back into my social self.

What do you think would be the perfect ,family for you?

Well I’d need to go to a family that would be patient with me.  I’m still a pup and need some help with training, it’s just basic things and I’m a very quick learner!  I’d also be great with kids, older ones would probably be best just because of my size.  I’d also love it if I went to a home that already had a dog!  I love other dogs and could use a confident friend to show me the ropes.

Recess, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well, even though I’m only one, I’ve seen a lot in my racing days and in my travels around the country.  Furry friends can get hurt or sick more often than we would all like, and pet insurance seems like a smart thing to have so people don’t have to spend all of their money at the vet!

Recess is such a smart boy, and we’re hoping he finds his forever home very soon!  When it comes to pet insurance though, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.  Call one of our agents today for a free pet insurance quote and take the first step on the road to protecting your furry friend!
