Furry Friend Friday With Elvira!

Elvira

We’re back with your Friday pick-me-up!  Our special guest for today’s Furry Friend Friday interview is named Elvira!  This pretty lady is a 3 year-old cat who’s up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society, she’s been there since June so she’s definitely overdue to find a family of her own!

So Elvira, how does a pretty girl like you wind up in a shelter?

Well, I actually used to have a family, but they moved and unfortunately couldn’t bring me with them, so I ended up here.  I came in with my brother, Merlin.  We’ve been together since we were kittens, so we’re very close and would love to go to a home together, although it’s not a requirement.

What’s your favorite way to spend the day?

I’m still young so I’m very playful!  When I get really excited I do “happy paws” and roll on my back with my paws in the air while I play with my toys, it’s pretty funny if you saw it in person.  After I’ve gotten my energy out, I enjoy sitting on window sills and just watching the world go by.  I also LOVE getting brushed.  Have you ever had someone just sit there and brush your hair?  Well let me tell you, it is amazing, especially for me with my long, luxurious fur!

It sounds  like you are a very fun lady!  Do you have a favorite toy to play with?

I really like chasing after laser beams, it never gets old for me!  I could chase after those all day, it’s a great way to keep my girlish figure in shape!

Is there anything that scares you?

I hate to admit it, but I am very scared of dogs.  They’re usually not that friendly towards me, sometimes they growl, or even try to chase me!  If you ask me, that’s just plain rude.  Who can blame me though?  Wouldn’t you be nervous if a giant, barking dog was chasing after you?  I thought so.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

I could really fit in with any loving family, as long as they could handle me being so active.  Like I said, even though it’s not required, I would really really love to go to a home with my brother Merlin.  I can also be shy at first when meeting new people, but I warm up very quickly.  When it comes to kids, the shelter thinks I would be good with them, as long as they were school age and cat-savvy.

Elvira, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

I’m no doctor, but if I had to guess I’d say that pet illnesses and accidents are pretty common.  I’ve seen a lot of pets coming and going from the vet’s office, and while I’m sure they’re excited when they leave, their owners seem to be pretty upset when they see the bill.  Pet insurance seems like a good way to make sure your pets can get fixed up by the vet without their owners having to break the bank.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!  Pets get sick just like people do, and their vet bills can be just as expensive as human medical bills.  Call us today for a free pet insurance quote and take the first step to protecting your furry friend’s future!

Furry Friend Friday With Bijoux!

bijoux

It’s that time of the week, time to feature an adorable, fluffy, furry friend up for adoption in Massachusetts!  Today’s special guest for Furry Friend Friday is named Bijoux, he’s a 6 year-old black cat up for adoption at the Scituate Animal Shelter, and he’s been there for a while now so he’s overdue to find his forever family.  This little guy is a real love so if you think he looks like your new best friend be sure and pay him a visit!

So Bijoux, I understand that you’ve been at the shelter for a while now, how long exactly?

I’ve been here for three months so far, so I’m definitely ready to get out of here!  Don’t get me wrong, everyone at the shelter is great, but I just want to find a place and a family that I can call mine.  Sometimes it’s tougher for adult black cats to find homes, everyone wants a little kitten or thinks we’re bad luck, but look at me, do I look like bad luck to you?

No not at all, you actually are quite dashing!  What does a handsome cat like you like to do all day?

I’m pretty simple really, and I like to think I’m mature for my age.  I like to lounge around like your typical cat, and when it’s warm out you might find me up on the counter where it’s nice and cool.  I also love being around people, that’s my favorite thing, I’ll run right up to visitors to greet them and let them know I’m there.  I’m social and friendly when I want to hang out, but I’m no stage 5 clinger or overly pushy, I can take a hint when someone wants their space.

Is there anything that makes you nervous?

Nothing comes to mind, unless there was a giant dog chasing after me, then I might get a little nervous but who wouldn’t?  I usually get along with most dogs that I meet though, so that hasn’t been an issue but if it were to happen I can imagine it would be terrifying.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Not to toot my own horn but I can’t get along with anyone, adults and children alike and even other cats and dogs!  I’ve lived with dogs before and as long as they are mellow and cat-savvy I’m sure we’ll get along great!  I’m very tolerant of all the young kittens that are here in the shelter with me, they’re always reaching for me and trying to play and I don’t mind at all, and I used to be around children in my old home so I know I’ll be fine if my future forever family has any little members.  I’m really just looking for anyone that will love me and make me their new best friend!

Bijoux, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well I’ve been lucky enough to stay pretty healthy so far in life, but I know that whether it’s from an accident or illness, most pets do eventually have health issues at some point.  It seems like a smart idea to have pet insurance so you don’t have to pay for those costs out of pocket, from what I hear the vet can be really expensive!

Bijoux is so smart!  He understands the value of having a policy in place to protect your furry friend, because after all, they are part of the family!  Call us today for a free pet insurance quote and make sure your best friend, and your wallet are protected.

Furry Friend Friday With Fat Louie!

fat louie 2

Happy Furry Friend Friday!  Today’s special guest is named Fat Louie!  This cute little feline is 3 years old and is up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society.  He’s been at the shelter for a couple of months now and can’t understand why someone hasn’t taken him home yet!  If you’re looking for a big cuddle bug to watch TV with, Fat Louie is your guy so stop in and pay him a visit!

So Fat Louie, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I like to get up early and watch the sun rise to start my day, I’m a big morning person, er cat I should say.  After that I like to play with some of my toys, cuddle with my favorite people, and then sit by the window and bird watch.

Do you have a favorite toy to play with?

Where do I begin?  I love scratching posts of course, but then again what cat doesn’t?  I also love chasing those little toy mice around, especially when they’re sprayed with catnip!  Chasing those around helps keep me in shape, my name may be Fat Louie but that doesn’t mean I have to live up to it!

Is there anything that scares you?

Well sometimes I can get nervous when I meet new people, I tend to be a little shy but once I’ve been around them for a while and get to know them, I go right back to being my usual playful and friendly self.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well my first request would be to go to a family with a nice window where I can bird watch and sunbathe.  The next most important thing would be to go with a family that would be able to commit to my special diet, you see when I came to the shelter I had a UTI and my family couldn’t afford the care, so they had to turn me over to the shelter.  I’m fine now but I will need to be on a special diet for the rest of my life to prevent further issues, but from what I hear it’s a common thing among cats.  I’d be great with older kids that are cat-savvy, maybe other cats as long as we could meet first, and dogs as well.  You see, I used to live with a dog and we would play and chase each other around all the time!  It was a lot of fun so if I found all of those things in one family, I’d be the happiest cat ever!

Fat Louie, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well look at me for example, I had a simple UTI which can easily be treated, but it was still too expensive for my family to pay for, so they had to surrender me.  Maybe if they had pet insurance they would have been able to afford my care and been able to keep me.

This is a perfect example of why pet insurance is such a good investment for pet parents, not being able to afford your furry friend’s care can have awful consequences, so call one of our agents today for a free pet insurance quote and take the first step to protect your furry friend!

Furry Friend Friday With Klondike!

Klondike

Forget Klondike bars, what would you do for a Klondike cat?  It doesn’t take much, this 7 year-old girl just wants a loving home and a warm lap to sit on.  She’s up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society and is a shy but friendly girl who’s ready to find her new best friend!

So Klondike, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I love being with people, and once I warm up to someone I love cuddling on their lap.  I can be shy at first, but with a little bit of time and patience I’ll never leave your side!  I also LOVE to sit in my cat house, it’s my favorite hide-out and makes me feel safe.  Sometimes I like to curl up in a blanket and just stay in there for the afternoon, but I still poke my head out whenever someone gets close, just so I can see what’s going on.

Do you have a favorite treat?

Would you believe it if I told you that I love Klondike bars? No? Well you’re right, even though my name is Klondike I’m not a fan of the ice cream bars, they’re too cold if you ask me.  I would much rather have some tuna!

Is there anything that scares you?

Well I do get nervous when there are loud noises, like loud bangs, screams, thunder, things like that.  I much rather prefer peace and quiet.  The shelter life has also been tough on me, I’ve been here since January and I’m definitely ready to be in a warm home where I get all of the attention to myself.  The shelter noises can be a little scary sometimes, but the staff here are so nice and let me hang out in the office with them, which is a big help!

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Since I’m afraid of loud noises, I would definitely want to go somewhere quiet, so that probably means no children as they would make me nervous.  I would be a great companion, so for anyone that’s looking for a new best friend, I’m your girl!  Other than quiet and adults only, I could go anywhere.  I love to curl up next to my favorite humans and relax, it’s the simple things in life that make me happy.

Klondike, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

I’m a pretty healthy girl, but even the healthiest of us need to go to the doctors.  Whether we get sick or have an accident of some kind, you can never predict these things but you can be prepared for them with pet insurance.

Klondike makes a good point, and it’s always better to be prepared for the unexpected than to be left with a vet bill that will clean out your savings account.  Pet insurance is a great way to make sure you can get your furry friend the vet care they need without breaking the bank.  Call one of our agents for a free pet insurance quote today!

Furry Friend Friday With Jinxy!

jinxy1

Friday’s are always fun when we get to interview a new furry friend!  Today I got to chat with Jinxy, an 11 year-old girl up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society.  This girl loves to cuddle and has been at the shelter since November, so she is definitely ready to find a forever family to call her own!

So Jinxy, what is your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I’m an older gal so I like to relax a lot, my favorite way to do that is by laying near the window with my belly up in the air and soaking up some sun.  I love being around people and I absolutely love being petted, but not picked up.  As much as I like to relax, I still enjoy playing with my toys every day!

jinxy2

Do you have a favorite toy?

I love my scratching post!  I mean I really love all toys, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be my scratching post for sure.  I also love catnip, so if you have that and a scratching post too, you might be my new best friend!

Is there anything that scares you?

There isn’t really anything that scares me, but there are things that annoy me, such as other animals, I would prefer to be the only pet in my new home.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well for starters, one where I would be the only pet.  Other than that my only request is for a nice, sunny spot by the window where I can relax and nap, okay and maybe a few toys to play with too.  I love all people, big and small, old and young.  I’m a smart girl and am fully trained, and I’m very affectionate, I would love to find a home sooner than later!

Jinxy why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well I’m an old and wise lady, and I know that pet insurance is a good option because it means you’re prepared for the unexpected, and it’s always better to be prepared than unprepared.  Whether pets are young or old, we can always get sick or have an accident when we least expect it.  Pet insurance would ensure that we could get all the vet care we need without breaking the bank.

When our pets have an unexpected accident or illness, of course we want to provide them with the best possible care, but that can be hard to do without breaking the bank.  With pet insurance, you can make sure that your furry friend can get the care they need without putting you in debt.  Call one of our agents today for a free quote and take the first step to protecting your furry friend!

Furry Friend Friday With Kittery!

kittery

Happy Furry Friend Friday everyone!  Meet Kittery, easy enough name to remember right?  Her being a kitty and all.  This girl is up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society in Lowell and is ready to be your new best friend!

So Kittery, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I love being around people, and here at the shelter they call me the “office cat” and let me hang out in the office with the staff instead of in my cage, how awesome is that!  I’m a very simple girl, I like to kick back an relax and be around my people.  I don’t really ask for much more than that, maybe just a sunny spot near the window so I can watch the world go by.  Oh and maybe my donut pillow that I have here, I love curling up in a ball and getting nice and cozy on it. Even though I’m a young girl, I’m not very playful, I can be sometimes, but I have to be in the mood.

Do you have a favorite treat?

I’m not picky when it comes to treats, I’ll take almost anything as long as it comes with being petted too!

Is there anything you’re afraid of?

Not really, nothing really terrifies me that I can think of, but I can be shy around new people sometimes.  The staff here all said that I warmed up to them rather quickly though, so that must be a good thing!  The only other thing that can make me a bit nervous is big dogs that aren’t friendly, but can you blame me?  I’m usually indifferent towards most dogs if they leave me alone, it’s the ones that don’t leave me alone that make me nervous.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well since I’m so laid back, I think I would do best with a family that’s laid back too.  I’m really looking to be someone’s companion and best friend, so would do well with an older couple or family with older kids I think.  Oh and I wouldn’t want to go to a home with a dog that would be around me all the time, those are my only conditions and if you think your home would be a good fit I would love to meet you!

Why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider getting?

Well I think all parents want the best for their kids, even the furry ones!  Pet insurance seems like a good way to be as prepared for the unexpected as you can possibly be.

Kittery is right, as pet owners ourselves, we know how important furry friends are, they’re party of the family, so they should be protected like it.  That’s why we offer pet insurance as one of our products so that you can keep all of your valuables safe, even the ones with four legs!  Call one of our agents for a free pet insurance quote today!

Furry Friend Friday With Snowflake!

snowflake

After yesterdays storm, Snowflake seemed like the perfect candidate for today’s Furry Friend Friday interview, the markings on her face even make it look like she stuck her nose in a pile of snow!  This pretty girl has been up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter since November 18th and is ready to find a forever home just in time for the New Year!

Snowflake, what’s you favorite way to spend the day?

Well I’m a very playful kitty, even though I’m 4 years old I can be just as playful as a kitten sometimes!  I also love being around humans in general, the staff here at the shelter always comment on how friendly and outgoing I am!  Can you believe I haven’t found a home yet?

Do you have a favorite toy to play with?

I love all toys but I’d have to say my favorites are the crinkly balls, I’m not exactly sure what they’re called but they have some crinkly foil around them and they keep me mesmerized!

What are some of your other favorite things?

I can’t get enough treats!  I love to snack and will meow and meow until I get you to give me a treat, it doesn’t usually take too long considering how cute I am!

Is there anything you’re afraid of?

I can’t think of anything that comes to mind, I’m not very skittish at all, I like to think of myself as a pretty tough girl.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

I could fit in anywhere I think.  I’m a very friendly girl and I can’t imagine anyone not liking me, can you?  Kids would love me because I’m so friendly and playful, I still like to run around like a kitten but have the smarts and maturity of an adult.

Snowflake, why do you think pet insurance would be a good investment for all pet parents to consider?

Well sometimes us shelter pets can have a rough start in life, I was pretty lucky but some of my friends here weren’t.  We’d like to think that once we find our forever homes we will never have another worry again, and pet insurance seems like it could help with that!

Snowflake is right, unfortunately not all pets get the best start in life, but once they find their forever families, they get a chance to start fresh and find a home that welcomes and loves them as the furry friends they are.  As part of their new start in life, it’s a good idea for pet parents to consider purchasing pet insurance.  It’s surprisingly affordable and can really save the day (and your wallet) should any unexpected accidents occur.  Give us a call today and talk to one of our agents for a free quote!

Furry Friend Friday With Nate!

Nate

We know it’s been a while but we’re back with another Furry Friend Friday interview!  Meet Nate, this 1 and a half year old guy is looking for his forever time just in time for the holidays!  He’s a tuxedo cat so he’s always dressed to impress and loves being around people! Nate is up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society and would love for you to stop by and pay him a visit!

So Nate, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I’m still young so I love to play, I even get along with dogs and other cats!  I also love being around people and one of my other favorite things to do is to curl up next to someone and be petted.

Do you have any favorite toys to play with?

Well I love those balls with the feathers on them, they’re really fun to chase around!  I also enjoy the catnip toys we have here in the shelter.

What about a favorite treat?

I absolutely LOVE those Greenie treats, they aren’t just for dogs, they make them for cats too!  Not only do they taste great, they’re good for my teeth!

Is there anything you’re afraid of?

Not really, I’m a pretty independent guy, I go right up to people, dogs, and cats.  I’m not shy or anything and nothing makes me too nervous.  The only thing that makes me a bit nervous is being inside a cat carrier, I just don’t like being inside a cage and not knowing where I’m going, it can be a little scary!

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

I get along with almost everyone so I feel like I would really fit in anywhere! I love people, kids, and even other animals as long as they’re friendly!  Whether I end up with a family, young couple, or a retiree, I would be happy to have any home for the holidays!  Us black cats tend to get overlooked sometimes, something about being bad luck, can you believe that?  It would make me so happy to find my forever family this holiday season!

Why do you think pet insurance would be a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well, pets are members of the family, and it only makes sense to protect our health and you wallet as you would do with any other family member.  Plus, it would be the perfect present to your furry friend this holiday season!

Give us a call for a free, no obligation pet insurance quote, you may be surprised at how affordable it is to insure your furry friend!

Furry Friend Friday With Boots!

Boots

Happy Furry Friend Friday everyone!  It’s not too often that we interview one of our feline friends, so today’s interview was extra exciting!  Meet Boots, this handsome boy is up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.  He’s 8 years old and has been waiting for his forever home for a while now!  Because of Boots’ age, he qualifies for the shelter’s “Seniors for Seniors” program, meaning adopters over 55 years of age won’t have to pay an adoption fee (although donations are accepted).  How can you resist that face?  Stop in and visit Boots right meow!

So Boots what is your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I really like to be around people, believe it or not.  I’m not a typical stand-offish cat, I love being petted!  I guess you could say I’m almost like a dog in that way.  I’m a great cuddler, and would be the perfect lap cat because I enjoy just lounging around with my people and getting all of their attention!  Oh and I also love my cat bed, can’t forget about that!

Do you have any favorite toys that you like to play with?

I’m a little too old for toys if you ask me, I’ve had my fun with climbing towers, squeaky toys, laser pointers, yarn, and any other toys I could get my paws on, but now that I’m more mature I enjoy spending my time in other ways.

What about treats?

I think treats are popular with cats of any age, and I’m no exception to that rule!  I love treats, don’t really have a favorite in particular, I’ll take whatever I can get!

Is there anything that scares you?

I’m no scaredy cat!  I’m very outgoing and there isn’t much that gets to me or makes me nervous.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well as an older guy, I think I would get along with an older person perfectly!  I’m not very high energy and just like to sit on the closest lap  and cuddle.  Don’t get me wrong I still have a lot of great years left, but I’m not as rambunctious as a kitten and think I would do well in a home with older folks.

Boots why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well not that I’m a fan of the vet or anything, but I think it’s inevitable that all pets will have to make an unexpected trip or two to the vet’s office.  Pet insurance seems like a smart way to ensure that your pet, and your wallet won’t be hurting after your visit!

Boots is right!  It does seem as though all pets eventually need to make an unexpected trip to the vet, whether it’s for a accident, sickness, or anything else that might come along, pet insurance will prepare you for the costs associated with vet visits and reimburse you up to 90% on covered claims!  Give us a call today for a free quote and take the first step to protecting your furry friend’s future.
