Summer’s coming to an end, kids are going back to school, and the weather is cooling down, but there’s still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy these fun events taking place this month in Massachusetts!

Hilltown Brewfest – Can you think of a better way to close out summer than by enjoying an ice cold brew on a beautiful day? No? Then you won’t want to miss the Hilltown Brewfest on Saturday, September 6th in New Salem!  Not only is it sure to be a great time, it’s for a great cause as all proceeds will benefit local fire departments.  Relax under the big tents while you sip on different brews of beer, wine, and cider from local brewers and listen to live music from three different bands!  There will also be food available for purchase, free popcorn and the commemorative tasting glass given to guests is yours to keep!  The Brewfest will be from 12 noon until 5 PM and is a 21+ and pet-free event.

The Big E – The largest fair in the northeast is back!  The Big E will be returning to West Springfield from September 12th – 28th, and is guaranteed to be fun for all ages.  Get your fried Oreo and Craz-E burger fix while enjoying live music, circus performers, a daily parade, museums, animals, competitive exhibits, crafts, rides, shopping, and much more!  There will be top performers in attendance including Emblem3, Darius Rucker, ZZ Top, Eddie Money, Little Big Town, and many more!  Concert tickets are not included with admission to the fair so those tickets will need to be purchased separately, but if you purchase concert tickets in advance, it will include your admission to the fair.  This New England tradition only happens once a year and you won’t want to miss it!

iFest Boston – The newest festival to come to Boston is celebrating everything Irish!  From food, sports, culture, and entertainment, this lively event is sure to be fun for all ages!  You can even join a workshop to trace your Irish roots!  There will be tons of live music, delicious food, literary exhibits, enchanting performances, an Irish sports bar, and or course plenty of drinks to go around!  This family-friendly  festival will be from September 26th – 28th at the Seaport World Trade Center on South Boston’s Waterfront.  Whether you’re Irish or not, you’re sure to enjoy the exciting atmosphere and merriment brought on by this new festival!

King Richard’s Faire – How often do you get the chance to step back in time?  That’s exactly what you can do at King Richard’s Faire!  Chow down on a turkey leg while you watch knights joust on horseback, jugglers, acrobats, fire eaters, puppeteers, and many other talented performers!  There will also be games, rides, artisans from around the world, exotic animals, and much more to captivate guests of the faire.  Don’t forget to grab a beer from your local bar wench while you’re there!  The faire is located on an 80 acre wooded site in Carver and will be going on from August 30th – October 19th so there’s plenty of time to visit.

So many events, so little time!  Make sure you get your tickets to these exciting happenings and enjoy what’s left of the warm weather before the chill of fall returns!

Events In Massachusetts This March

We’ve almost made it to spring, and that deserves a celebration, don’t you think?  With only a few short weeks left of winter, we’re all looking forward to warmer weather and longer days, and that means more time to have fun and go to awesome events!  We know that when people think of events in March, Saint Patrick’s Day comes to mind, and don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about that special day, but it will be getting its own event posting later this month.  In the mean time, check out all of the other events going on across the state this March!

Boston Flower and Garden Show – This is the perfect event to get you ready for spring!  Take in the beautiful sights and smells of the Boston Flower and Garden Show at the Seaport World Trade Center from March 12th-16th.  This year’s theme is “Romance in the Garden” and there will be garden writers, landscaping professionals,master gardeners, and local chefs will all be on hand for daily lectures, demonstrations, floral arranging workshops, children’s activities, and cooking demonstrations.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and $17 for seniors and are valid for one day only.  Don’t miss out on this fun event, it’s perfect for friends, families, or even a romantic outing, and is a great way to kick off spring!

Worcester Boat Show – This is another great event to get you ready for warmer weather!  Head to the DCU Center in Worcester from March 14th-16th for the Worcester Boat Show!  Whether you own your own boat or are dreaming of it one day in the future, you won’t want to miss this event.  All of the latest 2014 models will be on display, there will fishing boats, pontoon boats, sports boats, boating accessories, and much more.  You can touch and experience each boat to find your favorite, and if you’re in the market to purchase a boat you’ll want to take advantage of the special show prices and manufacturers incentives.  Tickets are $10 for adults and children 16 and under are admitted free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Paradise City Arts Festival – If you’re an art lover, this is the event for you.  There will be over 175 artists and their creations on display during this elegant event, and the diverse creations are guaranteed to catch your eye.  There will be a variety of different pieces, all showcasing the talent and innovation of American craftsmanship.  This event will be at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Marlborough from March 21st-23rd.  Ticket prices vary but if you plan on going more that one day, you’ll definitely want to purchase their three day pass for $16.  If you’ve been trying to expand your cultural horizons and do something new, this is the event for you.

Dine Out Boston – If there’s a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try in the Boston area, you’re in luck!  Dine Out Boston takes place once a year and gives diners the opportunity to sample prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner from participating restaurants.  Prices for lunch are either $15, $20, or $25, and dinner prices can be $28, $33, or $38, depending on what you order.  Prices are per person and do not include drinks, tax, or gratuity.  Sample meals from chain restaurants, locally owned bistros, from tapas to Italian, Mexican to sushi, Asian food to seafood, and much more as options you won’t know where to start!  Luckily you have a few days to take advantage of this event, it’s going on from March 16th-21st, and March 23rd – 28th.  For a full list of participating restaurants, click here.

Head In To Boston For These Events In March!

Can you feel it in the air?  We’re getting closer and closer to spring!  What more reason do you need to celebrate than that?  In honor of the upcoming change of seasons we’ve found the best events going on in the Bay State this March.  Grab your friends, family, or significant other and head to one of these events this month! Celebrate spring, St. Patrick’s day or just head out for a night on the town, either way, these events are guaranteed to provide lots of laughs and good times!

Pics In The Parks: Photography Workshop – Head over to the tennis courts in Porzio Park, East Boston this Sunday, March 3rd for an informal photography workshop hosted by the Boston Parks And Recreation Department.  Participants will be taught various techniques and instructors will assign a theme to focus on each week.  All ages and skill levels are welcome at this free event!  The workshop is from 11 AM – 12 PM, contact lauren.patrick@cityofboston.gov to register!

2013 National Golf Expo – Even though it’s not golf season yet, all of you golfers in the area can get an early fix.  The 2013 National Golf Expo is heading to Boston March 1-3 so stop by and enjoy a day of anything and everything golf! There will be exhibits, displays, interactive features, and not to mention the nation’s largest driving range and demonstration stage.  Head over to the Seaport World Trade Center for this event and pick up some tips to help your golf game and check out some of the latest equipment there is to offer.  There will be great deals on merchandise and you may even stumble upon a few unique items that are typically not sold in local pro shops.  Tickets are $12 for adults and can be bought at the door or online in advance, children 12 and under are free, and seniors (65+) tickets are $10 but must be bought at the door since an ID is required to receive the senior ticket price.  This event will be going on all weekend so if you’re a golfer or a fan of the sport don’t miss this!

“Clifford the Big Red Dog LIVE” – Help Clifford celebrate his 50th birthday this year by getting tickets to see his show! Clifford will be performing at the Wilbur Theater in Boston on Saturday, March 9th at 11:30 AM and then again at 3 PM.  Take a trip to Birdwell Island where Clifford, Emily Elizabeth, and their friends will learn about sharing, respect, working together, helping others, being kind and much more.  Parents, this is a great event for your little ones!  Children will love learning these important life lessons through song, dance, and one of the most beloved dogs of all time.  Tickets range from $17-$39 and are available through Ticketmaster.

Dropkick Murphys Concert – If you’re from the Boston area, you’ve definitely heard of this Irish punk rock band.  Formed in Quincy, MA in 1996, the Dropkick Murphys have been headlining events across the country for years now and are well known for hits such as “Tessie” and “I’m Shipping Up To Boston”.  Now you can see them perform these hits and more LIVE on Friday, March 15th at the TD Garden.  The show starts at 7:30 PM so get your tickets before they sell out! There’s no better way to celebrate St. Patty’s day than by enjoying a pint and listening to some not so traditional Irish music!

There are events for everyone to enjoy in Boston!  Whether you’re young, old, or somewhere in between, these events are sure to please every member of your family!
