We recently posted a bunch of events taking place for free this March, but for those that have a few extra dollars to spend, today we’re listing the top events going on in Massachusetts all this month!

Dr. Seuss is responsible for many classic children’s stories which is why kids will love going to his 108th Birthday Celebration in Springfield, MA this Sunday, March 3rd. Activities for the day include scavenger hunts, Cat in the Hat games from PBS kids, cake contest, and a meeting with the Cat in the Hat himself! http://www.springfieldmuseums.org/calendar/view/1895-dr_seuss_birthday_celebration/03-03-2012

We have all heard of the Boston Massacre, but on Sunday, March 10 you have the chance to see it for yourself! The Bostonian Society is performing their annual reenactment of the massacre in front of the Old State House where the original Boston Massacre actually took place. This event begins at 7PM and is about an hour long. Don’t miss this display of Massachusetts history that was a turning point in the American Revolution! http://www.bostonhistory.org/?s=osh&p=calendar

There’s no better excuse to go out than for a good cause! The 21st Annual Casino Royale takes place March 10 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston and all proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Guests are invited to enjoy dancing, live music, a silent auction, and casino gambling! Who wouldn’t enjoy that? Tickets are $75 and include hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. VIP tickets are also available and guests of this event receive a special room rate at the Seaport Hotel. This is a very worthy cause to come out and support while also enjoying a night of great food and entertainment! http://www.cff.org/Chapters/mass-ri/index.cfm?id=19655&event=1965

One of Boston’s most popular attractions is the New England Aquarium. Popular with both children and adults, the aquarium is home to different species of animals including the African penguin which was declared an endangered species in 2010. These animals are a staple of the aquarium and one of the most popular exhibits. Recently, Paul Leonard, Senior Penguin Biologist and Johanna Blasi, Senior Educator, New England Aquarium traveled to South Africa to research and care for these animals and are sharing their experiences in a lecture series at the aquarium Thursday, March 15 at 7PM. Guests must pre-register for this event which is sure to be popular with both children and adults alike. http://www.neaq.org/education_and_activities/programs_and_classes/aquarium_lecture_series/index.php

Who doesn’t love a good concert? Those of us celebrating St Patrick’s Day this year should look into the Dropkick Murphy’s concert taking place on St Patrick’s Day itself in Lowell, MA. The Dropkick Murphy’s are one of the most popular Irish Rock bands in the country and began in Quincy, MA in 1996. They have created many hit songs including “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” which was featured in the hit movie “The Departed”. This concert is guaranteed to be a great time and tickets are very reasonably priced.
