Gilster

Happy Furry Friend Friday everyone!  We’re back with another interview and today I got to chat with Gilster, a 2 year-old greyhound girl up for adoption at Greyhound Friends, Inc. a non-profit organization in Hopkinton, dedicated to rescuing racetrack greyhounds and placing them in new homes.

So Gilster, what is your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I’m not your typical 2 year-old, I love to go out for long walks but am very calm and love cuddling and hanging out with my people.  I used to be a racing dog down in Florida so I got a lot of energy out of my system and now that I’m retired I’m ready to relax!

When you do go for walks do you have a favorite spot?

Well there are some woods nearby the shelter here and we get to go out along the treeline and I enjoy that!  I love getting to smell around the woods and experiencing nature.

What about a favorite toy?

I’ll play with whatever’s nearby, I’m pretty easy going and am just grateful for whatever I get.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well I think I could fit in anywhere, I’m very relaxed and would be perfect either with a young person or a family with kids.  I would even be fine living with another dog!  The staff here also says I would be a good city dog because I’m not skittish at all!  I really hope that I find my forever family soon, I’ve already been at the shelter for a couple of weeks and would love to finally go home!

Well you say you’re not skittish, is there anything that does scare you?

Nothing that I can think of, not loud noises or people, I’m very calm in general and don’t get riled up very often.

Why do you think all pet parents should consider pet insurance for their furry friends?

Well I’ve been around a lot of dogs in my 2 years, and I’ve seen a lot of unexpected vet bills come up!  Pet parents should always be prepared for anything that might happen to their pets and pet insurance helps with that.

Gilster is a smart girl, and has seen a lot in her short life so far.  All pets have the ability to get themselves into trouble, and sometimes they can wind up in the vet’s office because of it.  Whether they eat something they shouldn’t, get out of the yard and wind up with a few bumps and bruises, or they develop a condition in their old age, pet insurance will have you covered and prepared for anything in your pet’s future!  Call us at MassDrive for a free pet insurance quote and protect your furry friend!
