Who doesn’t love helping out a good cause?  This month, we’ve made it easy for you to find events to go to that will not only be a great time, but also benefit the local community and help those in need.

Country 102.5 20th Year Celebration – Celebrate Country 102.5’s 20th year at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston on Thursday, October 3rd with American Idol favorite Kellie Pickler and special guest Charlie Worsham!  This acoustic performance is limited to those that are 21 and over, and the cost is $20.  Doors open at 7 PM and the concert begins at 8 PM, so make sure you arrive early to get a good spot!  All proceeds will benefit the Floating Hospital for Children at the Tufts Medical Center which provides comfort and care to children and their families when they need it most.  Grab your friends and head to the Hard Rock for a fun night of music, while doing some good for local families.

Central Massachusetts Walk To Cure Diabetes – This fun-filled charity walk takes place in various locations across the country, and this one will be held on Sunday, October 6th at the Bolton Fair Grounds in Lancaster.  The walk raises funds and awareness for the millions of people that are living with type 1 diabetes.  There is no registration fee although guests are encouraged to register for the walk ahead of time.  You can either walk alone or create a team and fundraise together.  The walk begins at 10:30 AM and is a 5K, it will be held rain or shine so make sure you dress for the weather.

Howl O Ween – For all of you animal lovers out there, this charity event will be a fun day out for you and your furry friend!  This fundraiser benefits the German Shepherd Research and Rescue Center and will take place at Endicott Park in Danvers on Sunday, October 13th from 10 AM – 3 PM.  Admission is free and there will be tons of fun activities going on throughout the day including a pledge walk, costume contest, dog demo’s, lucky ticket raffle, vendors, and much more.

Making Strides Walk To End Breast Cancer – October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and this month you can join the American Cancer Society for their annual Making Strides Walk in Worcester on October 20th at 10:30 AM.  This non-competitive, 2.5 mile walk not only raises funds to assist in life-saving research, but also raises awareness for this disease that effects 1 in 8 women.  There are other walks going on across the state this month, in Boston, Greater Springfield, Cape Cod, Berkshire County, and Nantucket so find the one that’s closest to you and sign up to join the fight against breast cancer!  Keep in mind that these walks are on different dates and possibly different lengths than the one in Worcester, so make sure you look into the details for the walk closest to you!

It’s easy to give back and have fun all at the same time this month, whether you’re working up a sweat at a charity walk, enjoying a concert, or having a fun day with your furry friend, there’s something going on this month for everyone to enjoy!
