Massachusetts New Year’s Eve Events

A new year is upon us! How will you celebrate and welcome in 2015? We’ve rounded up some great events from around Massachusetts to help you decide what to do. If you still need New Year’s Even plans, check out these great ideas from throughout MA.

The Zoo Year – Stone Zoo – Stoneham, MA – 4:00PM

The kids will love this one! Celebrate the new year at the Zoo Year celebration at the Stone Zoo – there will be a reindeer parade, Zoolights, costumed characters and even ice sculptures! The Zoolights spectacular will be sure to get your family into the holiday spirit. Tickets are $7 for non-members.

First Night – Boston, MA – all day

First Night has something for everyone, especially the whole family! With two fireworks shows (one at 7pm and one at midnight), a parade, ice sculptures, concerts (including one by local act and America’s Got Talent runner-ups Sons of Serendip!), and puppet shows and more for the kids! First Night originated in Boston – where better to celebrate than at the original! Buttons to access events on a first come/first serve basis are $10, children under 4 are free.

New Year’s Rockport Eve – Rockport, MA – 6:00PM

Besides having a rockin’ name, New Year’s Rockport Eve has something for the whole family to enjoy! From music to storytellers and magicians, there are some 85 events in 16 locations throughout Rockport, in their version of First Night (that may be closer to home for you!). The inns and restaurants of Cape Ann will be open for visitors to help ring in the new year! Buttons are $20 for adults.

New Years Eve Boston 2015 – Boston, MA – 9:00PM

Looking for a party to usher in the New Year? Check out Social Boston Sport’s annual New Year’s Party at King’s! This huge New Year’s party has two dance floors, two DJs, a professional photobooth, as well as compliementary bowling and other games all night! Sponsored by Deep Eddy Vodka, there will be three bars and signature New Year’s cocktails. Tickets are $85 until midnight.

Anti-New Years Party, Bukowski Tavern – Boston, MA

Finally, for those who want nothing to do with New Year’s Eve but love beer, Bukowski Tavern in Boston is hosting it’s annual anti-New Year’s party. Instead of a cover charge, you might even get paid to come on in the door. The Tavern is small, so if you want to ring in the new year by being anti-new year, get there early.

New Year’s Eve In Boston!

The big night is here!  The ball is about to drop and 2014 is almost here!  Are you ready to say goodbye to 2013?  There are tons of events going on in Boston to toast the past year and welcome the new one, and if you’re wondering where to go, check out our suggestions:

Crawl ‘Til The Ball Falls Bar Crawl – This 21+ event is sure to be fun for those of you that want to kick off the New Year with friends and a few drinks.  There are two spots to register, either at Stadium Sports Bar from 4PM – 8:30PM ($100), or Sissy K’s from 4PM – 7:30PM ($80), very limited amounts of the Sissy K’s tickets are available so make sure to act fast!  The bar crawl itself is from 4PM – 2AM and ticket price includes a cup, wristband, map of the route, and admission to all venues.

First Night – Of course this is the event that comes to everyone’s mind when you think of New Year’s Eve in Boston.  The first thing to know when it comes to First Night is that getting a button is worth it.  All outdoor events are free but the indoor ones are not.  For $10 you can purchase a 2014 First Night button that includes admission to every show on a first come, first serve basis.  You can purchase buttons at the BosTix Booth located in Faneuil Hall and Copley Square.  This day long celebration of art, music, dance, sculpture, fireworks, and of course the New Year will be fun for the whole family, and has something fun to offer that everyone will enjoy.

Frozen Fenway – This family friendly event is the perfect way to spend New Year’s Eve for Red Sox fans!  Spend the day inside the park sledding on the 20 foot Monster Sled, go ice skating, enjoy some classic Fenway food, take pictures on the warning track and in the dugouts, and take a picture with the World Series trophies!  There will also be free hot chocolate and cookies for children.  Celebrate the World Series champs and ring in the New Year with family and friends at Fenway Park! Tickets are $40 and this event is tonight, December 31st from 5 PM – 10 PM.

New Year’s At Laugh Boston – For all of you comedy fans, you won’t want to miss New Year’s Eve at Laugh Boston.  Comedian Big Jay Oakerson will take the stage for two shows, one at 7:30 and one at 10 PM and hilarity is sure to ensue.  With appearances on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”, “Just For Laughs Comedy Festival”, and HBO’s “P.Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy”, Oakerson is sure to bring lots of laughs to everyone in the audience to kick off the New Year.  Tickets for both shows are still available and cost $25.

Staying in tonight?  Grab some champagne or sparkling cider (for those that are not 21) and enjoy watching the ball drop!

Whatever you end up doing tonight, we want every to have a fun but more importantly, SAFE New Year’s Eve.  This night can be extremely dangerous if you do not party responsibly, so designate a driver and make sure everyone you’re with knows the game plan for the night.  Happy Holidays!

New Years Eve Events In Boston

No plans for New Years Eve yet?  No worries, we’ve got you covered!  There are a variety of events going on in Boston for the big night and something for everyone!  Whether you’re celebrating with your family, friends, or significant other there is a party suitable for all ages.  Step out into the city and watch some fireworks, take in live performances, participate in a champagne toast in honor of 2013, or all of the above!

First Night – This event has been a staple of New Years Eve for 35 years each year is bigger and better than the last!  It begins at 1 PM and ends at midnight with a stunning fireworks display over the Boston skyline.  Perfect for families, this event focuses on building community and celebrates diversity through the arts.  There will be live performances throughout the day, art displays, and huge ice sculptures throughout the city.  This event is the oldest and largest of its kind in North America and typically attracts over 1 million spectators.  Some of the major events during the day include a Family Festival at the Hynes Convention Center and a Grand Procession down Boylston St.  All outdoor events are free but to gain access to the indoor events you must purchase a First Night button.  They cost $18 (children under 4 are free) and are available at dozens of locations which you can find here.  Take a ride into the city for this all day festival and kick off the New Year with a bang!

Timeless a Bond Evening – If you were a fan of the latest James Bond movie Skyfall, this event is the perfect way to begin the New Year.  This black tie affair is being held at the Marriott,  275Tremont St. Boston and begins at 8:30 PM  December 31st and ends at 2 AM January 1st.  It is hosted by Miss USA title holders and will bring back the old Hollywood glamour of days gone by with a red carpet, music, decor, and professional photographers that will make you feel like you have stepped right into a scene from a James Bond movie.  There will be party favors, giveaways, and a contest with prizes for the best James Bond look alike and female spy.  Watch the live projection of the midnight countdown from Times Square while sipping on some champagne with friends and ring in 2013 the way Bond himself would.  A variety of different tickets are available including VIP, Non VIP Early Admission, and After Midnight General Admission.  Tickets are 90% sold out so get them while you can!

Boston’s NYE Crawl ‘Til The Ball Falls Bar Crawl – Grab some friends and get to Battery Park at 33 Batterymarch St to sign up for one of the best bar crawls in Boston!  You may register at any time from 5 PM – 10 PM on New Year’s Eve and tickets are just $15.  When you register you will get a wristband, cup, and bar crawl map that lists the drink specials times per venue.  Admission to bars is based on capacity so get there early to ensure a spot!  Stops along the way include Hong Kong at Faneuil Hall, Kitty O’Sheas, the Beantown Pub, and many more!

New Year’s Eve 2013 At Guilt – If you’re looking to get dolled up and hit the clubs for some drinks and dancing, stop by Guilt for the big night!  They’re hosting a New Year’s Eve bash with multiple bars and music from Erik Velez that will keep you dancing til the ball drops.  The maroon and gold themed decor gives the club a regal feeling and the massive dance floor ensures that there will be plenty of space to bust a move.  There are VIP and general admission tickets available and if you plan on watching the First Night firework’s display head to Guilt afterwards because general admission tickets are only $10 after 12:30 AM!

Whatever way you want to ring in 2013, there is a party for everyone!
