Don’t the weeks just fly by when there’s Furry Friend Friday to look forward to?  Yes that’s right, I’m back interviewing another one of our four-legged friends! Today I sat down with Rupert and he was kind enough to venture all the way over to our office in the freezing cold, talk about dedication!  During his office visit I had a few questions for Rupert and he was more than happy to sit down with me and chat.

What is your favorite way to spend the day?

I just enjoy having my parents home, when they have to go to work during the week I get very upset because I know that I’m going to have to sit by myself all day, but when they’re home they always play with me and bring me (almost) everywhere!  Out of all of the places we go, I’d have to say Dunkin Donuts is my absolute favorite!  I can smell it before we even pull up and I usually get a bite of a plain munchkin!

Do you have a favorite toy?

I am a very spoiled boy and have A LOT of toys to choose from so this is tough!  Out of all my options though I would probably choose my plush squeaky bone!  It keeps me entertained for a while and it says “stud” on it which is very accurate if you ask me.  I also love Mr. Squirrel, he is as big as me and was one of my very first toys!  He is extra special to me so I’m very careful to not put any holes in him so he is in pretty good shape.

I noticed that you came dressed in your winter coat today, is that your favorite outfit?

Well I have a lot of different clothes but I really am not a fan of them.  I wear them in the fall and winter out of necessity because the cold really gets to me.  If I had a choice though I would go au naturale all the time, it’s so much more comfortable and easier for people to pet me!

What’s your favorite place to go for a walk?

I like to stay close to home, my back yard is really my favorite spot, and when I get the chance I love to run!  Believe it or not I’m pretty fast for a little guy, and I have so much energy that I can run for a while.

Do you have any fears?

In a word, YES.  I have a few actually.  My biggest fear is being alone, I hate when my parents leave!  I have pretty severe seperation anxiety so that is what makes me the most nervous.  Other than that, my mom got a stuffed snowman decoration for the holidays that scared me so much!  One day he just fell on me without anyone touching him!  How did he do it?!  I was nervous every time I walked by him after that but he has grown on me since then.

Any health concerns for the future?

Personally, my knee makes me nervous because I have something called a luxating patella.  It’s basically a fancy way of saying that my knee cap can shift and move around on me.  It can even lead to arthritis eventually and is an expensive fix!  Other than that I don’t have any concerns, but my parents do.  They worry about me because I had a little mishap a few months ago.  I found a mysterious object (I don’t even remember what it was) on the floor and ate it.  How can you blame me?  I’m still a puppy and will eat anything I can get my paws on, but whatever I ate upset my stomach so my parents rushed me to the animal hospital because they were so worried.  The vets wanted to do a lot of tests and keep me over night which was pretty pricey but luckily my parents got me pet insurance as soon as they got me! That only happened once but they get nervous about me eating anything other than my dinner or treats.

Pet insurance saved the day for Rupert, well, really for his parents but nevertheless, it made a bad day a little less stressful.  Tests are always expensive and keeping a pet in the hospital overnight will cost big bucks, however, most of Rupert’s bills from this incident were covered!  You never know when your pet may stumble onto something that they shouldn’t and you don’t want it to end up costing you an arm and a leg.  Not to mention Rupert’s knee condition which could eventually get worse and lead to many vet visits.  Give yourself the peace of mind of knowing that your pet’s medical bills will be taken care of!  The last thing any pet owner wants to do is deny their furry friend the treatment they need because of the cost.  Give us a call or click MassDrive for a pet insurance quote today!
