Furry Friend Friday With Daisy!

We’re back with another cutie to make your Friday afternoon that much better!  Meet Daisy, she’s certainly as cute as a daisy if you ask us!  This little girl is a 2 year-old hound mix up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter and has been there for about a month now, so she’s been waiting a while for the perfect family!

So Daisy, what do you like to do for fun?

I’m just your typical pup, I like the simple things like long walks where I can take in the smells and sounds of the great outdoors, playing ball, and hanging out with my favorite people.  I’m very affectionate and love getting extra attention and belly rubs!

Do you have a favorite toy you like to play with?

I’d have to say my ball, I love chasing it and it’s so bouncy!  Like I said, I’m pretty simple and can be happy doing just about anything.

Is there anything that you’re afraid of?

Nope!  There isn’t much that can make this girl nervous, my previous owners thought that I was a little nervous around men, but I haven’t been afraid of any of the men I’ve met here at the shelter.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well, if I could choose, I would love to go to a home with people that would take me on a lot of walks!  I would say I have a medium activity level, so I’m not very hyper but I still like to be out and about whenever possible.  Other than that, I would say I would do best in an adult-only home, it’s not that I don’t like kids, just because of my size I wouldn’t want to accidentally knock them over or anything.  The other thing is that I would be best as an only pet, I don’t really get along with cats, come on, can you blame me?  When it comes to other dogs I don’t mind them but I would still prefer to be the only pet so I can have all of the attention!

So Daisy, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well I know I’m young, and I’ve been lucky enough to be healthy and accident-free so far, but other pets aren’t as lucky.  Some pets can eat the wrong thing, or come down with an ear infection, there are tons of different things that can land your furry friend in the vet’s office, and land you with a huge bill.  Pet insurance sounds like a good way to prevent a giant, unexpected vet bill that will drain your savings account.

For such a young girl, Daisy sure is smart, and adorable of course!  We know she’ll find her forever family soon, but she makes a great point about pet insurance.  No one wants a huge vet bill because their pet accidentally ate a chocolate bar or came down with an illness, so call one of our agents today for a free quote and find out exactly how affordable pet insurance can be!

Furry Friend Friday With Spoone!

Happy Furry Friend Friday!  Are you ready for all of the snow we’re supposed to get on Monday?  Spoone is ready for it but not exactly excited, this 5 year old boy is originally from Georgia so is used to much warmer weather!  He’s a cute German Shepherd mix up for adoption at Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem and is excited to be here and find his forever family!

So Spoone, what is your favorite way to spend the day?

Even though I’m the oldest dog here in the shelter, I can still keep up with the young pups and I love being outside playing.  I get along great with the other dogs here and love hanging with them, but if they’re busy I love to run and chase my tennis ball.  My friends here at the shelter say that I really get excited when they play keep away with me, it’s one of my favorite games!

Do you have a favorite toy to play with?

My tennis ball is by far my favorite!  See it in my picture with me? I never want to let it go once I have it!  I could chase that thing for hours, I’m pretty easily entertained and just an overall happy guy, but when I have my tennis ball I’m the happiest dog in the world!

Is there anything that scares you?

Nothing that I can think of and nothing that the staff here have observed, like I said, I’m an overall happy guy and don’t let too many things get to me.  I’m even happy to be here in the shelter!  Of course I’d rather be in my own home with my own family, but I’m able to make the most out of any situation.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Who wouldn’t love me?  Don’t I look like I should be lounging on your couch right about now?  I would love to go to a fun-loving family that would love to play fetch with me and my beloved tennis ball.  I love any and all people, big or small but because I am a bigger boy I would probably be best around children ages 10 and up.  Have another dog?  I’m sure we would get along great and would love for you to pay me a visit if you think I could be part of your family!

Why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well in my short life, I’ve lived in a few different places and seen A LOT.  I’ve seen a lot of great things and some things that weren’t so great.  I think that you should be prepared for anything, life is so unpredictable but if you have pet insurance you can at least be prepared to get your furry friend proper vet care without breaking the bank if the time comes.

Spoone is a very worldly gentleman, and is right about life being unpredictable.  We never know what may happen or what direction life may bring us in, but with pet insurance you can be sure that your furry friend will be able to get the vet care they need should the unexpectedly get sick or have an accident.  Call one of our agents for a free pet insurance quote today and make sure your furry friend is protected!

Furry Friend Friday With Bran!

_MG_5179 (1)

Still don’t have a Valentine for Valentine’s Day?  Look no further!  This face is about as cute as they come and Bran is looking for his new best friend!  This cute little puppy is about 6 months old and is up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter.

So Bran, I hear you are not originally from Massachusetts, is that true?

You’re right, I came all the way here from Virginia!  I was a stray there and then got rescued and brought to good old Massachusetts and love it so far!  I’m sure I will love it even more once I find my forever home and can go on adventures with my new family!

What’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I have a lot of energy so I like to do a lot of different things.  I am very playful and love toys!  We are very lucky here at the shelter because we get new toys every day, so I always have tons of options to choose from!  I also love being around people and getting my belly rubbed.  The staff here are very accommodating and love to give me belly rubs, although I don’t give them much of a choice, whenever they come into the room I always roll over on my back so they can scratch my belly, they think it’s so funny!

Is there anything that scares you?

Not that I can think of, I’m pretty lucky and haven’t been around too many scary things in my time, so I think of myself as Mr. Tough Guy.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well I would really get along with anyone!  Dogs, kids, you name it and I’ll get along with it!  I would just need to be with a family that understands my needs as a puppy and who know how much work I can be!  I will need to go to some training classes to perfect my manners but I’m a smart puppy and can pick things up quickly.  I would also love to go with a family that likes to do fun things like play ball and go on hikes or to fun, new places!

Bran, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well I’m not too old so I don’t have much experience with things like this but it sounds like something that could be pretty important.  Family is family whether they have two legs or four, and all family members should have the same protection if they get sick and need to go to the doctor’s office or the vet.

Bran is a smart cookie, and he’s right when he says that family is family whether they have two legs or four.  Get your furry friend the gift of pet insurance this Valentine’s Day and show them how much you love them!  Call our agents for a free quote and take the first step on the path to protecting your furry friend.  You can’t prevent accidents, but you can be prepared for them with pet insurance.

If you think Bran is cute, take a look at his friend Alan!  You can read his Furry Friend Friday interview here.

Furry Friend Friday With Transy

Who’s ready to kick off their weekend with a Furry Friend Friday interview? Transy is!  This handsome older gentleman is a beagle mix and is ready to find a best friend to share his golden years with.  He’s about 7 or 8 years old and is up for adoption at Greyhound Friends, Inc in Hopkinton.  How can you resist that face?  Stop by and pay Transy a visit if you think you two could be a match made in heaven.

So Transy, what’s your favorite thing to do?

Well I love to sleep!  Does that surprise you?  I’m an older gentleman so I need more sleep than pups do.  Did you know that some dogs need up to 13 hours of sleep a day?  I think I may fall into that category.

Do you like to go for walks?

Yes I love getting out and about!  Despite my age I still have a good amount of energy, when I’m awake, that is.  I can’t go too far, I prefer my walks to be short and sweet but I still love smelling the fresh air.

Do you have a favorite treat?

I enjoy your good old classic milk bones.  They can’t be beat if you ask me, that’s probably why they’ve been around for so long, I remember snacking on those when I was just a puppy!

Is there anything that scares you?

Nope, I’ve seen a good deal in my time and it takes a lot to rattle me.  I like to think of myself as a relaxed guy that goes with the flow.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well I think I’m a pretty lovable dog, so I think I could really fit in anywhere!  Like I said, I go with the flow.  I probably would be best with an older couple that moves at my pace and is looking for a couch buddy.  I also get along with other dogs and am good with dog-savvy children.  I would probably even enjoy the company of a cat!

Transy, why do you think pet insurance is a good thing for all pet parents to consider?

Well like I said, I’ve seen a lot in my time, including friends of mine who suffered some serious injuries, even while they were in their prime.  You never know what can happen with a pet whether they are young or old, so it’s probably a good idea to be prepared for anything.

We couldn’t agree with Transy more.  He is clearly a very smart boy and understands the value of being prepared to get your pet the best possible care should they need it.  We here at MassDrive want you to be prepared too, call one of our agents for a free pet insurance quote and begin the journey to protecting your furry friend and your wallet!

Furry Friend Friday With Kelso!

For today’s Furry Friend Friday interview we got to chat with Kelso, a 5 year old lab up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society.  This handsome boy was picked up as a stray and is ready to find a forever home where he can enjoy a nice warm dog bed, toys, and the occasional dog treat!  If you’re looking for your new best friend, look no further and visit Kelso today!

So Kelso, what’s your favorite way to spend the day?

Well I love to play, even though I’m 5 years old, I have a lot of energy!  I’m pretty rambunctious and my friends here at the shelter describe me as a bit of a bull in a china shop, so I love going for long walks and playing with toys to help burn off my energy.  After a day of fun and running around, I love to curl up and spend some time with my people.

What are some of your favorite toys?

My favorite toys are the squeaky ones!  The only problem is they aren’t that sturdy, so I go through them pretty quickly.  The staff here are really nice though and they know I can be a little rough with my toys so they try to give my ones that are a bit tougher and will last longer.

What about a favorite treat?

I love love love food and will eat anything in sight!  That might be why the staff here are trying to help me watch my figure and limit my treat intake, I think I look great but maybe I have gained a pound or two.

Is there anything that scares you?

Nope, I’m a pretty confident boy and can’t think of anything off the top of my head.

What do you think would be the perfect family for you?

Well since I’m an active boy I would love to be with a family that can bring me for long walks, or maybe even to see new places like the beach and the mountains!  I love other dogs so would be good in a home with another furry friend if you  already have one, and I love kids but would do better with older ones that aren’t afraid of a rambunctious boy.  Since I am a bit rowdy, I would benefit from some training courses, but I’m a fast learner and am sure I would make my new family proud!

Kelso why do you think pet insurance is a good investment for all pet parents to consider?

Well I’ve already learned that life can take some unexpected twists and turns,  so pet insurance seems like a smart way to make sure your pet can get the health care they need should anything unexpected happen.

Kelso is a smart young boy, and knows that life can hold all kinds or surprises, including when it comes to your pet ‘s health.  Pet insurance is an easy way to protect their future and ensure that if the time comes, your only concern will be their health, rather than worrying about the cost.  Call us today and get a free quote from one of our agents!

Happy Furry Friend Friday!

Today’s Furry Friend Friday interview is extra special, we have double the trouble (just kidding), double the excitement, double the fur, and double the cuteness this week!  Meet these two 3 year-old brothers, Smoke, and Whisk.  These cats are up for adoption at the Scituate Animal Shelter and have been looking for their forever home for a while now!  They can get separated but would prefer to be in a home together if possible!

So Whisk, how do you and your brother like to spend the day?

Well we are both very similar, not only in our looks but in our personalities as well.  Both of us like to be held and picked up, although if we get distracted by something we definitely have to go investigate so might jump right off your lap!  We are both very happy though and enjoy being around people and other cats, not too sure about dogs just yet.

What about you Smoke? Do you have a favorite toy to play with during the day?

I love squeaky toys, we both do actually.  There’s also a big scratching post that’s also a tower we can climb up on and stare out the window.  If I’m not playing with my squeaky toys, that’s usually where you’ll find me.

So Whisk do you enjoy the great outdoors?

No, we are both strictly indoor cats.  In fact, all of the cats that get adopted out from the Scituate Animal Shelter are required to be indoor cats.  It can be very dangerous outside for cats when you think of all the risks including cars, coyotes, foxes, diseases, you name it!  We enjoy being indoors anyways and don’t think we’re missing out on anything.

Smoke is there anything that makes you nervous?

Nothing in particular, we are both pretty brave and very friendly, we aren’t skittish at all around people!

Why do you both think pet insurance is important for all pet parents to consider?

Well, we are both only 3 years old but both have a mild dental condition that may need attention in the future.  At the moment it doesn’t bother us, in fact we probably wouldn’t have even known about it if it weren’t for the vet!  If you have pet insurance before something like that is discovered, treatment would be covered! That would be a huge help! – Smoke

Well, I would have to agree with my brother, and maybe if our old owners had pet insurance they could have afforded to fix the problem before it got worse. – Whisk

These two brothers are pretty smart 3 year olds!  Not only do they know the value of a dollar, they are thinking big picture when it comes to their own health.  Just as people age and need more frequent health care, the same goes for our pets so it’s best to be prepared.  Give us a call at MassDrive and get a free pet insurance quote for your furry friend today!

Furry Friend Friday With Yaya!

Here we are again at the end of another work week and you know what that means, Furry Friend Friday!  Meet Yaya, an 8 month old lab/pit bull mix up for adoption at the Sterling Animal Shelter who has been waiting to find a new home since May!

So Yaya, what is your favorite thing to do during the day?

Well I love being with people more than anything! My friends here at the shelter describe me as “very loyal” because I would be happy to just sit at your feet while you work or watch TV just so I can be near you!  Other than hanging out with people, I love being out and about so I can burn off all of the energy I have!  Afterwards, I enjoy a nice long nap.  The staff here all think I am so funny because every time I fall asleep I roll onto my back and sleep with all paws in the air.

Do you have a favorite place to go for a walk?

Usually I get to go out with the volunteers for a walk every day which I love.  We usually just go down the street a ways and if not we get to play outside in the pen behind the shelter.  I must admit that as a Tennessee girl (I was rescued and brought up to the Bay State!) I don’t really care where I’m going as long as I have my people by my side!

What about a favorite treat?

How can I pick one favorite when there are so many options to choose from? I will really eat anything I can get, I’m not picky when it comes to food.

Is there anything you would want your future family to know about you?

Well the only thing is that I would rather go to a home without other dogs or small children.  I love the spotlight and but don’t love when someone tries to steal it from me, I want to be the only apple of your eye!

Yaya, why do you think all pet parents should consider insurance for their furry friend?

Well if you ask me, if you adopt a pet you should be able to take care of it.  The vet’s office can get expensive, and fast so why wouldn’t you want pet insurance to make it more affordable?

Yaya makes a lot of good points!  All pet parents should have the means to properly care for their pet, and that includes their health care.  Protect your furry friend like you would any other member of your family and give us a call at MassDrive for a pet insurance quote today!

Furry Friend Friday With Penny!

Happy Furry Friend Friday everyone!  Meet Penny, this three year-old hound is up for adoption through Greyhound Friends, Inc under their “Hound Friends” section.   This cutie hasn’t had the easiest life so far, she was picked up as a stray in Kentucky and brought to a shelter there before she was transported up to Massachusetts.  She has been with Greyhound Friends for a few months now and is ready for her fur-ever home!  Greyhound Friends is also home to Bolt, who I interviewed a few weeks ago.  Bolt would be the perfect dog for an older couple or family with young children, read more about him here.

So Penny, what is your favorite way to spend the day?

Well, as a hound I have a very strong nose and love to use it!  Getting outside and out and about is one of my favorite things to do, and I love playing with other dogs as well!  I’m a very active girl and have a lot of energy so I need to find a way to burn it off or I’ll go stir-crazy!

Do you have a favorite place to go for a walk?

Well here at the shelter they have an entire fenced in acre where we can all run around! That’s all I’ve known for the most part since I’ve arrived here in Massachusetts and I’m hoping that once I find my family they will take me on a lot of adventures so I can learn my way around and find all the most happening spots.

What about a favorite treat or toy?

I LOVE pieces of chicken!  That’s by far my favorite snack ever and usually I just get a few small pieces but I would eat a whole rotisserie chicken if I had the chance!  In terms of toys, I enjoy playing with frisbees a lot!  I’m very quick and some say I would even make a great agility dog!

Do you have any fears?

Not really, when I was out on my own on the mean streets of Kentucky I got pretty tough.  I had to learn to fend for myself and came across a few scary situations but got through them and now nothing can scare me!

What would be the perfect home for you?

Well since I am so young and active I would enjoy being with a young couple who likes to go on hikes or runs.  I would also love a family with older children that can play with me and goof off, or even a home with another dog to play with.  I’m a very good girl and know all of my commands, am house trained, and quite good looking if you ask me!

Penny why do you think pet insurance is so important for all pet parents?

Well anything can happen in life, which I have seen first hand so it’s better to be prepared for the unexpected!  As pets we can’t help ourselves if we become sick so we rely on our owners to take care of us, and sometimes our vet bills can be very expensive so pet insurance can make sure we are protected while saving you tons of dough!

Penny is right, pets rely on their owners to get them the help they cannot get for themselves.  When you adopt a pet, their health becomes your responsibility, protect them like you would any other family member and call us for a pet insurance quote today!

A Very Special Furry Friend Friday!

Happy Furry Friend Friday!  We’re back today with a very special interview, typically we feature furry friends that are pets of our employees, but today we took a different approach.  We contacted the Lowell Humane Society to see if they had any animals that would be willing to sit down with me, and lucky enough I got to sit down with Peachie!  Peachie is a two and a half year old girl up for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society, she is house trained and very sweet!

So Peachie, what is your favorite way to spend the day?

I love going for walks!  It’s my favorite thing to do and lately I have even been doing some nose work training!  I’ve been smelling different things and am getting better and better each day, and when I go for walks there are so many different things for me to explore.  I also love getting my belly rubbed, I am a real cuddler!

Do you have a favorite place to go for a walk?

Well usually I get to go outside in the play yard or across the street and walk along the Merrimack River, it’s really beautiful but I have been here at the shelter for a while so would like to find my forever home and go on a lot more adventures!  I’m sure there must be a lot of other smells to experience out there and I have a lot of energy!

Do you have a favorite toy?

My favorite toy is my squeaky rabbit, I love the noise it makes every time I chew on it!  I also love marrow bones!  They are my favorite treat but are also kind of like a toy, I can chew on those things for hours.

As a pit bull mix you look very tough, but is there anything that scares you?

Well looks can be deceiving, even though I am a pit bull mix I am still a gentle girl, although I do have some anxiety.  I get along with most people, but sometimes certain people make me very nervous, I would never bite them but sometimes I bark at them.  I would be best off in a home where I am the only pet with adults only, because I have anxiety, other animals and kids sometimes make me nervous.

Peachie why would you recommend getting pet insurance?

Well pet insurance is always good to have just in case anything ever happens to me, or any pet.  Accidents happen and even young dogs such as myself can have issues.  I am healthy as a horse right now, but you never know what can happen in the future.  Think about it, humans have health insurance, why shouldn’t pets?  We have to go to the vets just like humans go to the doctors, so why not pay a little throughout the year instead of having to pay a large fee upfront?

Peachie is a very smart girl, she realizes that pet insurance is extremely important for any pet owner!  If you’re interested in getting a quote for your furry friend, call us at MassDrive!

Peachie is a very cute and unique girl, she would make a wonderful pet for a young, active adult or couple.  Peachie has been looking for her forever home for a while, would you be willing to open your heart  to a new best friend?  If you’re interested in adopting Peachie contact the Lowell Humane Society.
